We are Professional Wedding Officiants. Victoria and Peter Meyer. We are online-ordained ministers, which gives us the power to legally sign marriage licenses and marry couples in Indiana. We’ve signed around 10,000 marriage licenses. We are legal!
Wedding Officiant Peter Meyer
Our Civil Ceremony Services are a family business. As a husband and wife team, someone is always available to be in the office to marry you!

What is a Civil Ceremony?
A Civil Ceremony is what you would have if you were having a "Courthouse Wedding."
A judge, magistrate, or Justice of the Peace performs a legal, non-religious ceremony and signs your marriage license.
We are ordained ministers - that makes us legally able to perform marriages and sign marriage licenses in Indiana. We are not required to perform religious ceremonies to legally marry you, so we choose not to.
We only perform non-religious ceremonies in our office. You can book an elopement, small wedding, or formal wedding ceremony at your location with Victoria, and she is happy to perform all types of ceremonies, from completely non-religious to interdenominational ceremonies and handfastings.
Peter only performs non-religious ceremonies in the office.

What's included in your Civil Ceremony Services?
We've set up our Civil Ceremony Services so it can be what you want it to be.
You can have all the feels!! Or not, it’s up to you!
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable. Many couples just want to get the legal part of their marriage done now and will have a more formal ceremony at another time and want to save their more personal vows until then.
Our Sign-and-Go Marriage License Signature Service
Many call it a 'Signature Service' or a "Sign And Go' because we are signing the marriage license.
Many couples do just sign and go and that's perfectly fine! But, we are also very happy to make it a proper romantic and fun elopement!
Your Wedding Ceremony
After we sign your marriage license, we can perform a short and sweet, non-religious ceremony. We are required to perform at least a simple wedding ceremony.
Many couples just say their “I do’s” while they are getting their picture taken, holding the ‘Just Married’ or ‘We Eloped!’ sign.
Exchange Rings - or not
You can exchange vows and rings - or not. * Rings aren't required to get married. *
Exchange Vows
You can write your own vows or we'll use traditional vows. (No 'obey' ever!)
A simple, "I Do." Is all that's required. Peter and Victoria each have their own go-to ceremony they perform, but we are open to what you want.
Take Pictures
You are welcome to bring a photographer.
We can take pictures with your phone, or We can take them with ours and text them to you.
Use our flower wall as a backdrop. Hold the signs off of our sign wall, Take pictures of just the two of you and your guests.
Often, with larger groups, everyone is standing with their phones taking pictures while you get married.

Do We Need Witnesses?
No. No witnesses are required to be legally married in Indiana. You can come, just the two of you, and elope in secret.
You are welcome to bring witnesses with you. We have room for 6 witnesses seated OR 8 witnesses standing.
It’s a small office, and the wedding is informal. We usually gather around the couple, perform the ceremony and take lots of pictures.
How long does it take?
This whole process takes about 15-20 minutes. Often, it takes less time than that. Some couples are in and out within 5 minutes because they just need to get the legal paperwork and move on.
When are you available?
We are available every day by appointment. Our regular business hours are from 8-8.
Can we just walk into your office and get married?
If we are in our office, you are welcome to come in and get married.
We are not always in our office, so call or text first.
We welcome couples to walk into our office for a quick civil ceremony on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 am - 5 pm.
Check our website and social media daily, we will keep you updated daily as to when we are in the office
Bring your marriage license.
You need to obtain your own marriage license and bring it with you. Make sure to bring the whole packet the clerk gives you to make sure you have the correct certified marriage license the clerk issued you. We can’t marry you without a marriage license. The point of the civil ceremony is to sign the license.
If our marriage license was issued in another county, can we still get married in your office?
Yes. If you are an Indiana resident, you must obtain your marriage license from your county clerk. Then you can get married anywhere in Indiana.
What happens with the marriage license after we're married?
Your marriage license needs to be returned to the clerk that issued it within 30 days after your wedding.
Anyone can return a marriage license and you do not need to go together. It can be mailed.
You NEED to return the marriage license in order to have your marriage officially recorded into the system as legally married.
You will need to obtain a certified copy of your marriage license to prove you are married.
Marion County Marriage License Return Service.
If your marriage license was issued by the Marion County Clerk, we are happy to return the license for you in person, obtain 2 certified copies and mail them to you. We charge $20 for this service. It is $4 for each extra copy. You can book this service when you schedule an appointment or pay us at your wedding.
It is cheaper, and often easier for you to return your marriage license. you can walk right in the clerks office and get your certified copies in real time. They are $4 each. If you return the license by mail, you need to mail the clerk your license with a self addressed, stamped envelope, and a money order for the copies. It will take several weeks to get our license back this way. When I return your license you can get in by mail in 2-3 business days. It might be worth $20 for you!
This service is only available for marriage licenses issued in Marion County.
What do we wear?
Please arrive ready to get married. Most couples come in casual clothes, but some choose to get dressed up. We do not have a changing area, so please come ready. Our public restroom is literally not big enough to fit a wedding dress. It is not handicapped friendly.
We are usually dressed in business casual. It's an informal wedding so we are not dressed formally unless we have a formal wedding booked at another location before or after your wedding. If we have no appointments scheduled and we are just in the office waiting for walk-ins, we may be dressed casually,
Can we bring a cake and champagne?
No. Please do not bring food or drink - other than water or coffee. Our office is used to perform simple wedding ceremonies, it is not a wedding venue.
Can we bring our dog?
No. We’re happy to marry you outside with your dog, but only legitimate service animals are allowed in the building. This is the building policy and it is written in our lease. We often marry couples in the park with their dog!!

What's the difference between a 30 and a 60 minute appointment?
There is no difference in services. We offer appointments every 30 minutes, and some days couples can be lined up waiting to get married. If you are late, you might not have enough time to take pictures or have the ceremony you want. Most people know themselves and the people they invite to witness their ceremony. If you KNOW you are going to run late, book a full hour and don’t worry about it. If you are a few minutes late or want more time to take pictures, you have enough time. I married a couple a few weeks ago that booked the full hour. They had little ones and were 20 minutes late. With kids, they knew they would be! They still had plenty of time to get married, and their photographer got great pictures!
We are available every day from 8-8, however on weekends, $150 appointments start at 10 am. $250 appointments start at 8 am. So if you want to get married that early, we can accommodate, it will just cost more.
$150 appointments stop at 6 pm on Sunday - last appointment 5:30. $250 appointments are available on Sunday until 8 pm - last appointment 7 pm.
The Fine Print.
These are the policies for Civil Ceremonies in our office.
We are using our office to perform a professional service. That professional service is a legal marriage.
You must obtain your own marriage license in accordance with Indiana law and bring it with you.
We will sign the license together and perform a simple, non-religious wedding ceremony.
The completed marriage license must be returned to the clerk that issued it within 30 days. If you take the license with you, you are responsible for it.
If your license was issued by the Marion County Clerk we offer a service to return it for you in person and send you two certified copies. The fee is $20
Our office is not a wedding venue. You are not renting the space. We are performing your civil ceremony in our office.
We are providing a place to exchange vows surrounded by 0-8 people. There are 6 chairs for your witnesses or room for 8 standing. That’s all the space will comfortably allow.
There may be people working in surrounding offices while you are getting married.
If you book an appointment outside of regular business hours, your entire party must arrive together because we need to let you in the building and use a key for the elevators.
If you bring more than 8 witnesses, you have the option to get married outside on Monument Circle - weather permitting. No more than 8 people, plus the couple being married, will be allowed in my office. Children are included in the count.
We do not have a changing area. You must come dressed for your wedding. The public bathrooms are extremely small. There is no handicapped restroom on our floor, and our floor is the only one we have access to during non-business hours.
Payment is due when you book your appointment. You do not have an appointment if you have not paid in full.
If you arrive late, you can still be legally married but may not have time for more than just a basic exchange of vows.
If you are late, there are no refunds.
If you make an appointment online, there are no refunds. You can reschedule. We are open to the public Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 8:30-5, to allow you to walk-in without an appointment and pay cash or card at that time. If you are not sure of your schedule, please utilize our walk-in hours. Please check our website daily for up-to-date walk-in hours. We will publish changes as far in advance as possible.
If you have scheduled a $100 appointment - you can reschedule at no extra charge to a day we have walk-in hours.
If you book an appointment for an evening or a weekend, you must reschedule at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
You can reschedule to another date one time within 90 days from the original date you booked without incurring an additional fee. This means if you schedule an appointment on January 1st you must get married by March 30th.
